14-1300B Galactosemia Zebrafish Model

Recently the galactosemia zebrafish model that mimics the human phenotype has been developed. The zebrafish model complements the already existing animal models (fruit fly and mouse). We generated this model because of the unique features of the zebrafish that allow studies on onset of damage and development of new therapeutic strategies (e.g. farmacological chaperones).
