Judy is a Professor in the Department of Human Genetics in the School of Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Galactosemia has been a focus of research in her laboratory for more than 25 years. Judy earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Princeton University in 1983, a PhD in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1988, and completed postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School before joining the faculty at Emory in 1991. Judy has published more than 100 research papers, reviews, and book chapters, most of which relate to galactosemia. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Medical Genetics with a specialty in Clinical Molecular Genetics. Judy and her husband, Mark, are the proud parents of two grown children.
