PGC BOARD OF
DIRECTORS Greetings to All, We’d like to
take this opportunity to share with you some exciting changes, additions and
goals for PGC’s future! The PGC Board, met in
Columbus, Ohio the weekend of March 12th. Our goals were to set up more
committees, duties for those committees, timelines for newsletters, the 2005
conference (tentative dates and place) and to make sure we are all on the
same "track". The ultimate goal of course is to make sure to keep
communication lines open, be a support group for all of our families and to
help our kids in anyway possible. The PGC family has grown
tremendously in recent years and changes have to be made to keep it running
smoothly and efficiently, but our mission will always be the same: To
maximize the potential for normal development of the individual with
Galactosemia. A couple of the most
exciting changes are the additions of Maureen Bell, as Vice President and
Michelle Fowler, as Treasurer, to our Board of Directors. Some of you have
met Maureen at past conferences where she has been kind enough to share her
experience on "Growing Up With Galactosemia". I’m sure
a lot of you have also met Michelle Fowler, who along with her husband, has
been a great help at many conferences . We are thrilled to have both Maureen
and Michelle aboard! A list of all the
Board members, their address’ and phone numbers will either be on the
front of each newsletters or included inside the newsletter. Please feel free
to write or call any of us at any time. There will be a full list of all
Board Members, Committee Coordinators, Committee Members and all of their
duties in the fall newsletter. Newsletter
Changes: The newsletter will be sent out twice a year. Please
submit all articles to the PGC Secretary by either March 1st or September
1st. We will try to make sure that all articles are published. Due to
time constraints and/or the size of the newsletter we may be forced to put an
article off till the next time or regretfully, indefinitely. Please
remember the PGC Board does not have
all the answers, our intent is to facilitate the newsletter, to provide a
networking tool for educational information, support and encouragement to
all, so please send us your ideas, comments and articles. We cannot begin to thank all
of you enough for your patience thru our "growing pains". PGC is such a special family and one that
deserves the best of all of us, here’s to a great new future! Jackie, Maureen, Karen, Evelyn and Michelle Table of contents
